Hybrids and Hybridization Welles, Shana [1], Ellstrand, Norman [2]. Evolutionary origins of Salsola ryanii, a novel allopolyploid weed. Salsola ryanii is an allopolyploid derived from two invasive species, S. tragus and S. australis, that evolved in the last few decades in California's Central Valley.
