Engaging New and Existing Botanical Audiences.

The Herb Society of America, Inc. (HSA) was founded in 1933 for the purpose of furthering the knowledge and use of herbs. HSA is a nonprofit organization and is committed to protecting our global environment for the health and well-being of humankind and all growing things. We encourage gardeners to practice environmentally sound horticulture. The Society is concerned with the cultivation of herbs, the study of their history, and their uses, both past and present. The Society does not give advice on the medicinal uses of herbs. The Society’s journal, The Herbarist, has been published annually since 1935. The goal of the journal is to present the latest information about herbs and related topics to its membership. The Herbarist plays an important role in membership as well as public education. HSA is currently developing a program to promote the delivery of research findings from the science community to the HSA membership and/or a public audience. Our poster is an invitation to researchers to submit articles to The Herbarist. Article content should be re-purposed in a way that the reader can easily navigate and process the information. Authors can be paid for their submissions. The long term goal of HSA’s initiative is to enhance the public’s appreciation of the importance of plants to scientific advancement.
