Polyploidy, microevolution and species level systematics Marhold, Karol [1]. Polyploidy, microevolution and species level systematics. The colloquium will deal particularly with the following topics:- introduction of the most recent advances, hot topics, problems and opportunities in polyploid research- bridging from molecular level to population and ecosystem studies, with an emphasis to biosystematic implications- the impact of genome duplication on delineation and organization of biological diversity- challenges facing the biosystematic research (resolving complex low-level taxonomies in polyploid groups, delimiting polyploid species boundaries, detecting cryptic diversity)- patterns and dynamics of model polyploid complexes- integrating other disciplines (ecology, reproduction and pollination biology, etc.) and other evolutionary processes (e.g., hybridization) into the species level systematic studies of polyploid complexes- new methodological tools and developments in the polyploid arena, their impact on plant biosystematics Broader Impacts:
